Get Inspired: Unconventional Tablescape Decor

So, get ready to maximize your investment when shopping for home decor and learn how to use pieces of your personal collection in new and inspired ways around your home as we share how to create this design; but be prepared: you may never think of these common household items the same way again! (Don’t worry. It’s a good thing!)
4 Common Home Decor Accents to Use as Unconventional Tablescape Decor
Common Decor Accent #1: A Throw Rug

Our first step to our Tablescape Recipe is always a textural throw to serve as a table runner, but when we found this beautiful Beige & White-Striped Throw Rug at Home Centric, we knew it would create the perfect anchor piece for this design. We decided to angle its position to give added interest to the overall aesthetic and truly love how this throw rug brought the whole look together! And, as always, choosing neutral colors will guarantee a great investment, as you’ll be able to use this throw through all seasons, and even for different purposes throughout your home.
Common Decor Accent #2: Kitchen Crocks

Normally, kitchen crocks are found, well, in the kitchen. They’re the go-to vessel for all your mixing spoons, spatulas and more. But what about a kitchen crock as a vase? We are so glad we tested this idea out because the outcome was so beautiful! We chose these White Ribbed Kitchen Crocks, and filled them with a simple floral arrangement to create an easy yet sophisticated aesthetic. So easy and yet so perfect!
Common Decor Accent #3: A Garden Tray

We love pieces that are both functional and stunning, and this Metal Garden Tray did not disappoint! In any Centerpiece Medley, we love adding candles for warmth and fresh elements for life, and this unconventional item acted as a vessel for both those purposes. Placing it in on top of the throw rug, we filled its compartments, usually reserved for gardening tools and supplies, with pillar candles and fresh apricots and peaches for an inspired – and totally unexpected – warm and welcoming centerpiece.
Common Decor Accent #4: Coasters

Creating a personalized element to a tablescape design can really make an impression on guests and add to the inviting aesthetic you’ve already created. When we saw these super affordable Natural Stone Coasters, we immediately envisioned these being used as place cards to add to the overall design. With our Cricut (that Nana got us years ago!), we created simple place cards that can easily be used as favors as an added “thank you” to your guests.
