Fall has officially started and we’ve begun to transform our homes to reflect the season. Today, we’re covering Shannon’s fall tablescape: a full, classic centerpiece that allows for everyday family life to happen around it. Whether the table is used to hold packages and mail, Max’s latest art project, or dinner for the family, this smartly-designed seasonal centerpiece can stay in place as family life happens around it.

The Hows and the Whys Behind the Look
We’ve created the perfect recipe to get your centerpiece and tablescape right every time; and that’s exactly what Shannon followed to create her stunning fall look.

1. Textural Table Throw

Adding in a soft textile, like a throw, scarf, or runner, instantly warms up a tablescape and is one of our favorite tricks. Shannon used APIARY’s Woven Wool Blend Plaid Table Runner to bring in a cozy texture and a nod to the fall season with its plaid pattern.

Then, Shannon wove in even more texture to her fall tablescape with the addition of Dried Buri Palm Garland. This brings in a great natural touch, while still staying within a neutral color palate that works with any accent color.
2. Centerpiece Medley

Next, take any decorative vessel–we love pitchers for their versatility–and fill it with fresh, dried, or faux floral. For her fall tablescape, Shannon chose to fill the White Stoneware Pitcher with Reactive Glaze with faux stems in an autumnal burgundy. This piece brings great height and color to any table.

To anchor the other end of the table, Shannon styled this elegant Footed Mango Wood Bowl. Shannon filled the bowl with dark-colored pears to tie in more fall colors and add more height for visual interest.
3. Sculptural Pitcher

Lastly, one of our favorite #HostfulHacks is to fill a pitcher with water whenever you set a table. Not only does it make refills easy, but it invites everyone to stay at the table–including you! Shannon chose this charming, earthy Two-Tone Round Stoneware Pitcher with Reactive Glaze for her fall tablescape and has it doing double-duty as a decor piece.
Above All Else
A beautiful tablescape can quickly turn into a beautiful disaster if it doesn’t work for you, your home, and your way of life. We love how easy it is to sit down and have a meal with this design. It allows for real, daily life to happen around it and never gets in the way. When creating your own fall tablescape, you may want to give some thought to everything your table is used for. Make your tablescape work for you and you’ll be enjoying it all season long.
