The one thing you’re not doing to reduce the mess in your kitchen while hosting dinner:
Run the dishwasher. We have tested this process over the years and have come to find that running the dishwasher the night before hosting guest and emptying it first thing in the morning helps tremendously. First, you’re guaranteeing all dinnerware, silverware, and glassware will be clean prior to your guests arriving. Second, an empty dishwasher helps clear the clutter off of your counters as you prepare dinner. Fill your dishwasher with prep dishes throughout the day and dinnerware after the event. Simply, clean as you go.
