How to Host a Last-Minute Easter Brunch in Your Home
Cleaning before Easter Brunch
Let’s not get crazy here. Scrubbing your whole house top to bottom isn’t just unnecessary – it’s a waste of time. No one is coming into your house with the goal of a cleanliness inspection (even though it might feel that way!) and no one is going to open up the kids’ bedroom doors. So, instead, pick your battles and begin them wisely.
Try the Basket Hack: If you do not have ample time to prepare for your guests’ arrival, go through your home with a bin or basket (a laundry basket is perfect!) and a trash bag. Fill the basket with random items laying around and place it in an inconspicuous place. Fill the trash bag with any trash and throw it away. After guests have departed, you can go back to the basket and put everything where it belongs.
Remember Nana’s Rule: According to our Nana, as long as your bed is made, your sink is empty and your bathroom is clean, your home is ready for guests.

Set the Ambiance for Easter Brunch
The Florals: Grab some flowers from your local grocery store and set them into your favorite vase, pitcher or unique vessel. To remain within the Easter theme, select florals that are cream or blush hues for a light and airy ambiance in your home.
The Candles: Candles are one of our favorite ways to add warmth to our homes. We recommend choosing taper candles in light hues for this occasion to give it a touch of sophistication, encouraging the ambiance in your home to feel special.
The Theme: It’s Easter, so why not give a nod to the Easter bunny himself by styling your napkin folds like a floppy-eared rabbit? Without having to purchase holiday-specific decor, this small touch offers the same holiday-inspired effect.

Give Your Table Character
Choosing pieces that offer a unique aesthetic with a twist on classics add visual interest to your tablescape. Consider pleated taper candles (seen here) in linen for an elevated and unexpected look and feel.
Make Your Easter Brunch Functional
When you’re looking to welcome people into your home for a shared holiday, make sure you won’t have to worry about any of the functional basics, which include seating, surface space, and disposable dinnerware.
The Seating and Surface Space: We recommend always having an extra set of quality folding chairs on hand, as well as setting up an extra 6-foot folding table to set out food, drinks, Easter baskets, and more! Easily dress up a folding table with a throw blanket or table cloth to match your aesthetic while simultaneously making your gathering more functional.
Disposable Dinnerware: Allow yourself more time to relax with friends and family by choosing one-time use dinnerware. We love our Dried Areca Palm Leaf Disposable Dinnerware Collection of affordable, eco-friendly, natural dinnerware that not only can withstand heat, but can also support the weight of food. Furthermore, these pieces boast an elevated aesthetic that matches the special atmosphere of a holiday gathering.

Prepare a Simple Easter Brunch Menu
If you’re reading this, then you probably don’t have the time (or the desire) to create a complicated, from-scratch menu. We’re right there with you! For an Easter brunch, we suggest going with an easy-to-make, make-ahead Easter Sandwich Spread.
Why a Sandwich Spread? Brunch menus, in general, have a slightly less formal feel than an “Easter Dinner” menu. Therefore, consider a self-serve option for your guests that offers delicious options but doesn’t create much more work for you. These recipes are super simple to make and can easily be prepared the day before and kept refrigerated. (Just wait to put into the croissant or bread until just before serving to make sure there’s no sogginess!)
These salad recipes are versatile, and pair perfectly with other items in a variety of ways. Here are some ideas for you below!
- Classic white bread
- Plain or flavored croissants
- Toasted or untoasted bagel
- Baguette
- Bun
- Pita Bread
- Lettuce Wrap
- Tortilla Chips
- Green salad
- Fruit platter
- Cheese platter
- Vegetable platter
- Chips
- Dill pickles
- Macaroni salad
- Soup
- Fruit salad
Finally, don’t forget about beverages and dessert. After you take a look at our tuna, chicken and egg salad recipes, we suggest going with a lemonade recipe for a classic everyone loves, and an easy, no bake dessert.
No Prep Easter Brunch Option
If even halfway homemade and no-bake options seem too much, there’s always another choice: going completely store-bought. When choosing this option, you’ll want to have neutral, decorative serveware on hand to replate the premade food to give your gathering a homemade aesthetic (without any of the making at home!).
From large serving bowls to serving platters, salad servers and more, replating food is one of our go-to #hostfulhacks that make hosting that much easier without sacrificing aesthetic.

What to Keep in Mind as You Prep
When it comes down to it, opening up your doors to loved ones for a holiday is an act of love. Creating cherished memories with family and friends is what hosting a holiday is all about (and, okay, delicious food too!), and so while we talk about cleaning, tablescapes, and menus, remember that it’s you they’re coming to see. So if you’re stressed, distracted and flustered, your people won’t get the full you.
So, invite them in but remember the why of what you’re doing. Clean, but don’t overclean. Prepare food, but don’t worry if it’s not from scratch. And serve your loved ones with a calm, present self that’ll allow those meaningful moments to take place.
Hap-Bee Easter, friend!
