‘Tis the season of giving, and there’s nothing we love more than a well thought out gift for those you love. However, we noticed there’s one gift that often gets overlooked or doesn’t get much thought and that is the hostess gift. For years, the go-to has been to bring a bottle of wine or bubbly the hostess can save for an evening she’d like to indulge in a glass or can serve to her guests at the affair she is hosting. So, as we began to think about our gift guide this season, we stepped outside the box and began to think about unique gifts for a gracious hostess that also double as gifts a thoughtful hostess can give her guests planning to attend her party, spend the night or join her for an extended stay. Plus, they don’t require any wrapping, because they’re beautiful just as they are! With that, we bring you our first official Holiday Gift Guide for the Hostess or House Guest.

The Holiday Party Gift
Whether you’re planning to attend a holiday party this month or if you’re hosting one, it’s great to think of a little something to bring your hostess or a fun favor to gift your guests. When we saw these adorable Christmas tree candles, we couldn’t resist! Candles are always a nice gift to give or receive, and these are just so festive for this time of year. We decided to pair them with these striped kitchen towels from Hearth & Hand and simply tied them together with baker’s twine.
If you’re gifting this set to your hostess, you can give it as is or even add a little piece of cinnamon, palo santo, incense, rosemary and/or a small pine branch to dress it up a bit. If you’re planning to use as a guest favor, you can place it at each place setting to accent your tablescape or fill a cute basket where each guest can pull from on their way out. And the best part?! Each set is less than $15!

The Overnight Guest Gift
Are you planning to spend the night or did you invite a guest to stay after a holiday get together? If so, consider a gift your hostess can enjoy after you’ve departed or something to make your guests feel right at home. The best way to do this? A gift that encourages self-care, of course!
We had a ton of fun sourcing the products for this set and just love the way it all came together. The first pieces we found were the adorable bath salts that double as Christmas ornaments! And at $1 a piece, we had to get two! They can only be found in the Target One Spot, but here is another option. Because you can never have enough bath salts, we also found these (similar) that feature a fruity aroma. And since our theme encourages a soak in the tub, we knew we had to add these rose infused incense and a soy wax candle to bring warmth and a sense of calming.
As we continued to shop, we also found this beautiful essential oil set complete with a peppermint blend for rejuvenation, a tea tree blend to boost immune health and a lavender blend for stress relief. Yes, please to all of these during this busy time of year!
To complete the gift, we found this gold cosmetic bag to store all the treasured goodies inside and displayed everything on a tray (it also can only be found in the One Spot, but this one works too!) that can be set on the end of a bed or used as décor by the person who receives it. And would you believe this entire set cost less than $40?!

The Extended Stay Gift
The holidays often mean we get to see loved ones we don’t see as much as we’d like. And with that, you may find yourself staying for an extended period of time or inviting guests to stay in your home to enjoy more time together. What better way to say “I’m happy to be here” or “I’m happy to have you here” than a well-thought out gift with the longer stay in mind?
This gift set includes a comfy throw that encourages your guest or hostess to curl up and enjoy your time together. It’s also fun to add a game or puzzle that can be enjoyed during your visit. We found a beautiful wooden Jenga set that is sure to compliment anyone’s décor when it’s not being played. It’s a limited edition at Target during the holidays, but here’s a similar one in case you can’t find it.
And let’s be honest, if you’re planning to spend a few nights together, you’re sure to enjoy a cup or two so we found these gorgeous pink marbleized coffee mugs and added a bag of Caramel Macchiato. Feel free to choose your favorite holiday blend or a favorite of the person who will be receiving the gift.
Finally, can we talk about this adorable mini-waffle maker?! Honestly, we saw it, and we just had to have it! Nothing says “make yourself at home” quite like some fluffy waffles. Simply add a gourmet waffle mix and some maple syrup and you have yourself the perfect gift! Arrange everything in a beautiful woven basket that can serve as both storage and décor. For less than $100, you now have a gift that keeps on giving!
