2023 will be here before we know it and this is the time of year we tend to get extra-reflective. Our memories from the past year inevitably lead to us thinking of the year to come and setting our own goals.

If experience has taught us anything, itβs that a well-thought-out plan and prep work go a long, long way when looking for results. Just like hosting a party, your goals for the new year will be so much more successful if you take the time to intentionally create a plan you like and can follow. Also like a dinner party, you can totally wait until the last-minute to pull plans together, but we guarantee that youβll feel more confident and prepared for your plans if the pre-work has already been done in a thoughtful way.
Follow your heart
Donβt get us wrong, thereβs always a time and a place for SMART goals and the like. However, when it comes to reflecting on the past year and creating our goals for the next we really like to follow our hearts first and foremost.

What that looks like
So what does heart-forward goal setting actually look like? Well, for us it sometimes looks like a word (or phrase) for the upcoming yearβhere is Jennaβs for 2022 and here is Shannonβs for 2022. For others it may look like an inspirational Bible verse to refer back to, a vision board, or daily affirmations. Goal setting is a personal exercise and the result will be just as personal as the personβas long as youβve found a format that works for you then youβre set for success.

What challenges do you find with goal setting? Do you like to set new goals for yourself at the end of each year or on a rolling basis? We would love to hear from you!
