Day 5 – Holiday #HostfulHack: Incorporating Holiday Garnish
One of our favorite #HostfulHacks of all time is adding seasonal garnish to prepared dishes and cocktails whether they’re homemade, halfway homemade, store-bought, or restaurant takeout. A little bit of garnish will elevate your recipes and give prepared dishes and drinks a homemade look and feel. Our personal favorites are adding fresh rosemary and/or cranberries to plated recipes and powdered sugar to desserts!
Pixels & Pop’s Incorporating Holiday Garnish #HostfulHacks
The Holidays are all about gathering with loved ones surrounded by good food and cups of cheer! Here are a few tips to consider when decking your drinks with all things jolly!
Hot cocoa bars are a popular feature at any Holiday celebration since they can be enjoyed by all ages. If you’re strictly serving adults, I suggest including a bottle of peppermint schnapps as an optional addition. If you want to be cheeky add a tag on it that says “naughty” along with providing a bottle of flavored syrup with a tag that says “nice.”
When it comes to cocoa, customization is part of the fun so be sure to serve a few optional treats for guests to mix in. Sweet mints, marshmallows, and chocolate stir sticks are a classic staple! In regards to garnish, cookies work perfectly especially Gingerbread due to their firm structure.
Speaking of sweets, Rock Candy Wands are an excellent addition to a variety of beverages from champagne to Perrier sparkling water. They add sweetness while adding a fun pop of color to your bar or beverage station! Just include one in each empty glass prior to the start of your party. Some other classic and versatile Holiday garnishes to consider are rosemary, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, and candy canes!
