Who is Living Locurto?
Amy is the founder and creative director behind Living Locurto and believes we all need a LOT more happiness in our world. What started in July 2008 as a blog about creative things Amy did at home with her kids, Living Locurto has since turned into a popular DIY lifestyle blog where you will find easy recipes, party ideas, fun crafts, DIY home decor, and travel tips.
Day 3 – Holiday #HostfulHack: Menu Planning for Informal Gatherings
Whether you’re hosting a cocktail party, an open house, or a casual gathering, planning a menu for an informal gathering is just as important as it is for hosting a formal gathering. However, when it comes to informal events, there is room to get creative and an opportunity to feature multiple dishes to accommodate an array of palates. Think hors d’oeuvres, small pickings, charcuterie boards, cheese trays, and the like.

When it comes to holiday entertaining, I’m all about getting creative with appetizers. My best #HostfulHack is displaying easy recipes or snacks in a unique way. For example, instead of the usual round cheese ball, I always shape mine into something cute such as pine cones, a snowman, or Santa. Adding cheese or fruit to styrofoam cones with toothpicks to make Christmas tree appetizers is always a hit. I think of food as the centerpiece on my table. It’s always fun to come up with new ideas to wow my family and friends!
