9 Surprising Ways to Style a Throw Blanket

#1: Table Throw
A table throw is our go-to way to style this entertaining essential. By placing a throw blanket on your dining room table as the first step to your tabletop design, you instantly create a focal point and anchor for your design. The best part, though? There are multiple variations to how you style a table throw! For a circular dining room table, like Jenna’s, achieve an organic aesthetic by scrunching the throw inward to the center of the table, like you see here. (If you have a traditional rectangular dining room table, like Shannon’s, use a table runner organic aesthetic.) Alternatively, you can use a a diagonal or perpendicular (throw blanket lying across the width of the table so both ends of the table are showing) styling, as well. Whichever design you choose, this styling choice will instantly elevate and pull together your entire tablescape look.

#2: Guest Bedroom
In addition to soft linens, a throw blanket at the foot of a guest bed is the perfect way to welcome overnight visitors into their home away from home. This simple offering also allows guests to easily reach for an extra layer is they feel a chill at night. Welcoming and warm – it’s a win win and a guest bedroom must-have.

#3: Gift Baskets
Opt for a throw blanket as a way to fill out a gift basket for loved ones. Instead of wrapping paper or plastic that’ll be instantly tossed, this is a stunning and functional way to show your appreciation. Who doesn’t love being gifted a cozy blanket?! (P.S. #4: Outdoor Seating
While you might not associate throw blankets as being synonymous with the outdoors, tossing a throw over outdoor seating helps to make the area warm and welcoming. Adding soft, inviting textures conveys the message that you want your guests to stay a little longer and connect a bit more. If you’re hosting during cooler months, those throws will come in handy when loved ones feel a chill in the air!

#5: Decorative Ladder
We love this simple yet functional accentual piece! Simply fold and hang your throws on each rung of the ladder for easy access and stunningly beautiful storage when they’re not in use. Style a basket with faux greenery at the bottom of the ladder (easier maintenance that way!) to fill out the look.

#6: Coffee Table
To take inspiration from the Queen of Coffee Table Entertaining, we love to incorporate a throw here, as well. Similar to table throw styling, place the blanket on the coffee table find your desired design (take inspiration from Styling Tip #1!).

#7: Dining Room Buffet
While you probably know we love our neutrals, during the holidays and for special occasions, using a throw blanket to add a pop of color is a favorite styling tip of ours. Consider using a smaller throw blanket (or just fold one in half) for your dining room buffet or sideboard. Again, the soft texture creates warmth in any room and pulls your whole look together.

#8: Living Room Seating
Don’t you just want to hop right onto this couch and curl up with this Waffle Knit Throw?! We know we do! And that’s the effect a throw over a couch or chair has on guests in your home. Fold neatly or toss for a more whimsical, relaxed vibe.

#9: Decorative Basket
Similar to the decorative ladder, a decorative blanket serves dual purposes: style & storage. Toss in or fold throws and place in a wicker or woven basket. This allows for easy access but also gives them a home when not in use.
